Special Instructions for your Move to/from Puerto Rico:
There is no passport or visa requirement for U.S. Citizens when entering or exiting Puerto Rico.
You can travel freely in and out of the country without lengthy delays in Immigrations or Customs.
Your luggage will be inspected at the airport by the US Department of Agriculture to be sure there
are no prohibited items. Please check with your US State Department for current restrictions on items
leaving or entering the U.S. For information on restricted items going into or out of Puerto Rico
please call the Puerto Rico State Department at 787-722-2121.
Transporting your Auto to/from Puerto Rico:
Persons moving to Puerto Rico and needing to transport an automobile to the island from the U.S.
should call the Office of Excise Taxes at 787-721-6237 or 787-721-0338 for more information.
Moving your Pets to Puerto Rico:
The requirements for pets are:
1) Tag with name of pet, owner's name and telephone number, and
2) Rabies quarantine certificate from veterinary doctor stating that pet has had a rabies shot.
