The Cartwright Companies'
origin dates back to the Great Depression. Our founders, William, Sr. and
Jesse Cartwright started a local moving services company in 1934 with a
single truck and the determination to succeed. Their formula, one that
remains integral in our culture today, was quality service delivered with
honesty and integrity.
  Cartwright
was a family enterprise. Five of William & Jesse's seven children played key
roles in the growth and diversification of the The Cartwright Companies:
Cartwright International Van Lines, Cartwright Relocation, Compass
International Forwarding, Inc., Cartwright Logistics Services, and
Cartwright Air Express.
  
During 2005 Mike Cartwright, after completing his 45th year of active
service with the company, assumed the role of CEO and the daily operations
of the company were transitioned to the third generation of family
leadership.
Over its 71 years of continuous operation, the Cartwright Companies have:
- Grown and operated a nation-wide Van Line
- Established Cartwright International as a
world-wide freight forwarder
- Built a new world wide headquarters in
Kansas City, Missouri
- Created a global agency network
- Launched multiple divisions providing
complete transportation solutions
- Actively participated in numerous industry
association boards
